Built for Everyone

Gold Sooq Guide is designed to be usable by all shoppers — whether you rely on VoiceOver, prefer high contrast, or use the app in Arabic. Here's how we support you.

Supported Accessibility Features

The following Apple accessibility features are fully supported in Gold Sooq Guide:

Supported

VoiceOver

Every interactive element — buttons, price cards, charts, forms, and photo thumbnails — has a descriptive VoiceOver label. The price history chart supports swipe up/down to step through data points.

Supported

Voice Control

All buttons and interactive controls carry accurate semantic labels, so you can tap or activate them by voice using the exact label shown on screen.

Supported

Dark Interface

The app uses a dark gold theme throughout — ideal for low-light environments and users who prefer dark interfaces by default.

Supported

Differentiate Without Color Alone

Status indicators (live vs. cached prices, VAT status, making charge fairness) always include text labels alongside color, so color-blind users receive the same information.

Supported

Sufficient Contrast

All text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA 4.5:1 contrast ratios against the dark background, including warning indicators and secondary labels.

Using VoiceOver

Gold Sooq Guide is optimized for iPhone VoiceOver. Here are tips for navigating key features:

  • Price History Chart VoiceOver announces the chart as a single accessible element with the current price, range, and percentage change. Swipe up or down while focused on the chart to step through individual price data points by date.
  • Gold Calculator Karat selector, weight input, and making charge fields each have descriptive labels. The full breakdown card reads the complete calculation — gold cost, making charge, subtotal, VAT status, and total — as connected sentences.
  • Shop Comparison Each quote card is read as a single summary including shop name, karat, weight, price per gram, and total. Photo thumbnails announce their position (e.g. "Shop photo 2 of 3"). The delete button on photos announces its index.
  • Shopping Checklist The progress bar announces its percentage ("47 percent complete"). Checkable items announce their checked state and category.
  • Language Toggle The AR/EN toggle button is labeled "Switch to Arabic" or "Switch to English" with a hint indicating the current language. All price values and dates switch to Arabic-Indic numerals when Arabic is active.

Arabic & Right-to-Left Support

Gold Sooq Guide is fully bilingual in English and Arabic. Tap the language toggle at the top of any screen to switch.

In Arabic mode, the full interface switches to right-to-left layout, Arabic-Indic numerals (٢٢٤٫٥٠), localized date formatting, and culturally appropriate typography for UAE Arabic readers.
